I know it has been a minutes since I’ve reached out to you all. At times my commitment to my music can be overwhelming, but it’s the feeling that I get in return that reminds me why I do it. The energy from a crowd, the compliments from fans, fam and friends. I know it may be perceived as just my ego enjoying the stroke but do believe I am one of the genuine dudes out here who can appreciate each moment for what it is. I thank you for hanging with me through my journey. When I doubted myself it was you all who pushed me back up and forward. That’s love right there no one can deny that.
At this point in my life I can see the parallels in the things going on around me. The great escape is a metaphor for seeking and finding your happiness. As men we are told not to express our emotions and hide our fears. I have found my great escape in my wife to be. Yes world I am getting married. I often asked myself what changes once you become part of the institution of marriage. How can you not be in that state of commitment prior to the formalities of the event? Like anything we do in life, if you do it with love and care would not your intent be as strong as your commitment to see it through. So, I guess what I’m trying to say is; I commit to being committed. If I can see that in my woman and our love and allow it to mirror everything else in my life, my music, work, friendships etc. This Great Escape has just begun and I can’t wait to see where it leads us and better yet where we commit to take it.

While many of us begin this New Year with continuation or a fresh start it is important that we remember where the journey began. Not necessarily from a physical local but from what emotional point the path was born. The journey may become tedious, long and hard to endure but it is this confirmation of purpose that keeps us pushing. That is why I started out the great escape with the track Journey featuring Roach Uno and Theo 3. To remind me why I love to rhyme and also to understand I am not the only emcee out here. We all tend to become selfish on our trek as it becomes a commitment to succeed in what we set out to do but do remember we are not alone. Inspiration and encouragement is all around us. When we put first our reason for beginning it is then when the path unfolds before us. May your path continue to be blessed as you put forth your best efforts this year. So here goes another year and another begins and here we are. Where we've walked to pause and reflect on our journey, decisions and goals. This rap thing has made me value art and appreciate reality so much more than most who become engulfed in the game only to be swallowed by it.
